About Me

I personally have been involved with computers since about 1977. Around 1980 I saw the “First Computer below $200” in an ad and fell in love right then with computers!

That first computer was a Sinclair ZX81 with 1k of memory! I had to add an Sinclair_ZX81-120pxextension memory pak of 16K so I could play chess. The only problem being that if the extension was disturbed at all during the game which took about 3 - 5 minutes to load from cassette tape, the whole game died and I had to load it all over again!

But it was my start!

commodore_vic20_1We then cycled through the Vic20, Commodore 64, both of which were revolutionary for their time in graphics and because they had a sound chip, the SID, which could create music and voices so much more advanced than the primitive multimedia efforts of the PC which only could muster up beeps of diffCOmmodore_c64_hr_2serent pitches.

Eventually as a teacher with Niagara South Board of Education which was converting their PET’s and C64’s over to IBM, I decided that I would have to keep up to date and do the same.

However, not having the money, being a one-income family, and putting our oldest daughter, Ann through Bible School, I got creative.

I learned all I could about IBM computers, found a supplier, and sold my first 7 machines before Christmas 1988. The first one was sold to another teacher from a glossy black and white print. I will always be grateful to the Keith Culliford and his wife for being my first customers and passing my name on to others.

My business, Computerworks was born.

Addendum:

I have worked with computers since 1977 and sold them starting in 1987 from a glossy ad. I put that business aside a few years ago to follow a desire to be more useful in a world where debt has become staggering and nobody teaches about HOW MONEY WORKS! Having taught school for 34 years, this is a source of frustration to me.

So I decided to do something about it. Since financial data is of a personal nature, we are providing only references here to get you thinking about your financial life before you grow old and wish you had! You may contact me for more information if desired.

I love to help people find ways to save money WITHOUT finding a second job. I have been able to save several people that I have worked with from $80 - $100 a month amounting to...

$960 - $1200 a year

or

$9600 - $12000 over 10 years

and

$28800 - $36000 over 30 years.

Maybe you LIKE the idea of saving money. Maybe you like spending it more. Well if you can save that much money, then you will have MORE to SPEND AND to SAVE!
